5K & Fun Runs
There’s something for everyone

Not so much of a competition runner? Prefer to run in your own time but still want to take part in the fun? Want to make this a family event with the children? Then we have something for you to take part in!
With the Polaroid Eyewear 10K Series there is something for everyone, with a festival of fun runs for all ages at the Vale of Leven 10K. The Festival is made up of separate runs.

- Polaroid Eyewear 5K Senior Schools Challenge (as part of the 5K)

The Loch Lomond 5K Run
The 5K follows a trail starting and finishing at Loch Lomond Shores and goes through Balloch Park with great scenery and views of Loch Lomond. The race is open to adults and children aged 11 years old and up. We work closely with West Dunbartonshire Leisure Sports Development and Jog Scotland in the organisation of the event.

Entry: £10
Age: 11+ years
Start: 10:15am -Please Note: it is recommended to arrive at least 45 minutes earlier

All participants will receive:
- Unique t-shirt
- An exclusively commissioned medal
- A goody bag
- Results to your mobile phone – chip technology – provide your mobile number on entry
Plus there are many spot prizes on offer.
Polaroid Eyewear Senior Schools Challenge
This event is a new addition designed to open running participation to senior school pupils in the local area. The event will be integrated into the 5K fun run and will follow the same trail. Organised by West Dunbartonshire Leisure Sports Development Team, the event is attracting great interest and we look forward to a great experience.
Entry: £5.00 per pupil (reduced fee-normally £10.00) £10.00 per teacher
CATEGORIES:
The event is split into four categories, which are shown below:
- Secondary Junior - S1 to S3 Boys
- Secondary Junior - S1 to S3 Girls
- Secondary Junior - S4 to S6 Boys
- Secondary Junior - S4 to S6 Girls
All participants will receive:
- An exclusively commissioned medal
- A goody bag
- Highland Spring water
- Accurate timing through use of chip timing
Plus there are many spot prizes on offer.
Polaroid Eyewear Primary Schools Fun Run
The Primary Schools Fun Run follows a short trail close to Loch Lomond Shores and finishes through the main 10K inflatable finish line. Participation is open to 13 local primary schools and local primary school pupils can enter within their own school. Anyone else can enter this fun run on the day, its open to Primary 1 to Primary 7. Each school can enter as many pupils as they want and are not restricted to only three from each category. Organisation is completed in advance within each school by the Active schools team in conjunction with West Dunbartonshire Leisure Sports Development Team

Age: Primary 6 to Primary 7
Start: 9.00am
Age: Primary 3 to Primary 5
Start: 9.10am
Age: Primary 1&2**
Start: 9.20am
Enter: Via local primary schools& on the day
All participants will receive:
- An exclusively commissioned medal
- A goody bag
- Highland Spring water.
Times may vary slightly, but to avoid disappointment please ensure to be there before 9.00 am
**Young Children may be accompanied by an adult on the run
The Toddlers & Buggies Run
This Fun Run follows a short course within Loch Lomond Shores and finishes through the 10K inflatable finish line. The Run is organised by West Dunbartonshire Leisure Sports Development Team.
Entry: £1 enter on the day
Age: Toddlers and Buggies**
Start: 9.30am
All participants will receive:
- An exclusively commissioned medal
- A goody bag.
